About Tri Delta

Tri Delta was founded by women, for women, in 1888 at Boston University when our Founders bravely created a new organization that would “think more of a woman’s inner character than her outward appearance.” Their vision has grown into the dynamic women’s organization we know today.

Today, Tri Delta is a network of nearly 250,000 women, and we are committed to lifelong learning through educational initiatives, transformational programming and relevant personal and professional development.

From supporting Tri Delta’s Foundation—which empowers collegiate and alumnae members through transformational programs, scholarships and emergency financial support—to supporting the life-saving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and local children’s cancer charities, Tri Deltas are passionate about serving others.

A Letter From Our President 🩵

Established in 1888, Delta Delta Delta honorably upholds the core values offriendship, truth, and self-sacrifice, committed to enhancing the leadership andintellectual development of each member. The Theta Gamma chapter of Delta Delta Delta at the University of Oklahoma proudly cultivates a driven community of campus leaders who demonstrate exceptional dedication to academic excellence, philanthropic engagement, and social responsibility. Recently, our chapter was awarded the Margaret Paddock Hallar Award, distinguishing Theta Gamma as the Chapter of the Year among all Tri Delta chapters. This honor exemplifies our steadfast focus on Tri Delta’s fundamental values along with our mission of ensuring outstanding merit in all facets of our chapter. As a Gold Standard of Excellence Chapter on OU’s campus, we are motivated to preserve and build upon our legacy through scholarly achievement, leadership, and community service. Our membership is centered around our support for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and our members look forward to our events that celebrate our love for philanthropy each year. This past year, our members raised over $78,300 for St. Jude, setting a high standard for philanthropic effort. Our partnership with St. Jude allows us to make a tangible difference in the lives of children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. By raising funds and spreading awareness, we strive to support St. Jude's mission of finding cures and saving children, ensuring that families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food. We are grateful to be in collaboration with two philanthropies, including our local affiliate, the Oklahoma Children’s Cancer Association. In addition to our fundraising efforts with St. Jude, our members support young patients and their families by attending and organizing various events that benefit the children diagnosed with cancer in Oklahoma. We push our women to achieve the greatest of goals alongside their sisters: You can find our members represented in organizations such as the President’s Leadership Class, President’s Community Scholars, Honors College, OU Athletics such as Pom and Cheer, the JCPenney Leadership Program, and more. Our sisterhood is unique in the way that we learn, grow, and lead together. We support one another not only throughout our four years of college but through every stage of life. The continued generosity and involvement of our alumni are a testament to the lifelong relationships we form, and the lasting impact this sisterhood has on all of us. I am humbly honored to serve the amazing women in my chapter and will work to continue pursuing our path of excellence.DLAM, Abby Maxwell-ToddChapter President
