Chapter Philanthropy and Service

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never receive a hospital bill. We are humbled that through this sisterhood we get to work with such an incredible organization that makes such a huge impact in children’s lives.

In the fall we host Delta House of Pancakes (DHOP), where Sooner Families come over to 1611 College Ave to enjoy a pancake buffet the morning of a big football game! This event capitalizes on the college football fervor intrinsic to OU as Sooner fans show up to pregame and fundraise for St. Jude.

Additionally in the fall, we hold our annual letter-writing campaign, “Sincerely Yours.” Each member of our chapter writes 50 letters to their family, friends, former teachers, and fellow students mentioning why we support St. Jude and asking for donations to join in the fight against childhood cancer. Although this event seems small, it is one of the most impactful fundraisers we have every year.

In the spring, we partner with the men of Sigma Phi Epsilon to host Coffee House. Imagine a chill outdoor concert filled with friends and fellow OU students and with a coffee truck; That is Coffee House. Our small scale outdoor festival is a fun way to bring together the OU community for a great philanthropy.

Our second fundraising event in the Spring is a 24-Hour Social Media Push, where members of Tri Delta post on social media accounts asking for donations at the same time, and we see how much money we can raise for St. Jude in 24 hours. Theta Gamma was the first Tri Delta chapter to put on a 24-hour push day like this and, because of our success, it is now an event chapter across the nation host! This campaign really showcases the generosity of friends and family, and allows us to raise substantial amounts of money in a short amount of time. The members of Tri Delta are incredibly passionate about St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is evident in the success of our fundraising efforts earning over $120,000 for them this past year.

Though St. Jude is our national philanthropy partner, childhood cancer in general is Tri Delta's philanthropy. To support this cause locally, we work with alumni to put on an annual event called Art with a Heart. It is a black-tie auction where art from the patients of the OU Children’s Hospital are bid on by attendees. Our work with Art With A Heart begins months in advance, when members go to the hospital for Art Creation Days, which is where patients actually create their artwork for the auction event.

In 2024, our chapter was able to collectively raise over $120,000 for St Jude!! Our work is never done, and we look forward to continuing our philanthropic efforts for many years to come.
